Rawlings Real Estate Management was built on the foundation laid by Bass & Royster Builders, one of Asheville’s most respected custom home builders and property management firms. Bill Rawlings took over ownership in 2013 and, as new owner and Broker-in-Charge, turned the company’s focus exclusively to managing residential and commercial property.

Rawlings Real Estate Management remains committed to the values held since the inception of its predecessor in 1988: professional integrity, personal service, quality product. Our goal and purpose is to represent these qualities as we provide residential and commercial property management solutions to discerning homeowners and renters.

Bill Rawlings – Owner / BIC

After joining Bass and Royster and heading the growth of the property management division, Bill Rawlings took ownership in 2013 and operates Rawlings Real Estate Management as Owner and Broker-in-Charge. Bill graduated from Virginia Tech with a BS in Business and has since acquired over 18 years of experience in all aspects of property management, as well as real estate sales and home building. He is also trained as a Green Associate with Leaders in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED). He grew up in Roanoke, VA and spent time in Portland, OR and Charleston, SC before putting down roots in Asheville with his wife and two young girls. Bill is happy to confront the challenges and rewards of doing his life’s work in the city he loves.

Mark Casson – Property Manager

Mark joined Rawlings Real Estate Management in January 2016, bringing over 15 years of experience in real estate sales working with Appalachian Realty Associates here in Asheville. Mark graduated with honors from the University of London Middlesex Business School with a BA in Business Administration in 1988. He relocated to the US from England in 1990 and has lived in Asheville NC with his wife and son since 2000. Mark is an accomplished musician and enjoys writing and recording songs, as well as performing his music live onstage. Mark performs many vital functions for Rawlings Real Estate Management, from property inspections to apartment building management, with optimism and diligence, and has introduced many prospective tenants to their future homes.

Linda Rawlings – Office Manager

You’ll find Linda in the office occasionally, but she has worked behind the scenes for Rawlings Real Estate Management since its inception. Linda enjoyed a 10-year career in vacation rental management on the Isle of Palms in South Carolina, where she met her husband, Bill. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Anthropology at the College of Charleston and is a licensed real estate broker in North Carolina. Linda enjoys developing systems and using technology to increase efficiency, creating advertising for our amazing rental properties, and observing her colleagues doing incredible work every day!

Dawn Williams – Property Manager

Dawn joined Rawlings Real Estate Management full time in January 2021 after relocating from the mountains of North Georgia. She is a graduate of Georgia Southern University where she obtained a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, majoring in Information Systems. She has her paralegal certificate and recently obtained her Real Estate broker license for North Carolina. Her background is in Project & Process Management, Office Management/Administration and family law. Dawn thrives on building positive relationships with property owners, vendors, and tenants. She enjoys managing properties, so her clients don’t have to, and she joyfully assists tenants through the application, leasing and move-in processes.

Chelsea Nave – Property Manager Assistant

Chelsea joined Rawlings Real Estate Management full-time in November 2025. She was born and raised in the Asheville mountains. She graduated from Western Carolina University with a B.S.B.A. in Business Administration and Law and went on to receive a Data Analytics Certificate from the University of Texas at Austin. She has a love of languages. She received a minor in Japanese in school, and she pursues language learning in her spare time. This passion for languages and cultures spills over into her love for travel. Chelsea uses her background in business, law, and data analytics to assist the management team in delivering exceptional service to tenants and owners.
