Q. What if I have a maintenance issue?

A. Please let us know if there are maintenance items that need to be addressed in your rental home. If you experience an emergency maintenance issue after business hours, your call to our office at (828)252-6664 will be forwarded to our 24/7 answering service, and operators will relay your message to the property manager. We work with trusted contractors and, whenever possible, will coordinate with you to schedule a time that is convenient to address your service request. You may also click here to submit non-emergency maintenance requests through your tenant portal.


Q. How do I apply to rent a home?
A. After viewing the property with Rawlings Real Estate Management staff, request a link to our online application from the leasing agent at rentals@rawlingsrem.com. We require a completed application and application fee for each adult occupant. We also require a separate physical check for the application deposit of one month’s rent that will be credited toward your security deposit if your application is accepted and you sign a lease. Applications will only be accepted after the property has been viewed by the applicant with a Leasing Agent present.

Q. What lease do you use?
A. We use the North Carolina Association of Realtors lease, honoring applicable state laws.

Q. How do I pay rent?
A. Rent may be paid online using your tenant portal. Checks made payable to “Rawlings Real Estate Management” can be mailed to Rawlings Real Estate Management, 383 Merrimon Ave Suite A, Asheville, NC 28801 or dropped off at our office during business hours. Personal checks, money orders and cashier’s checks are accepted. No cash please.

Q. Are pets allowed?
A. Rawlings Real Estate Management must be informed of and approve any pet residing at your rental property. Many properties prohibit pets entirely, and others will permit pets with restrictions on the size, species, breed, number of pets, etc. If a pet is approved by the rental property’s owner, tenants will be required to pay a refundable or non-refundable pet fee. Assistance Animals are not ‘pets’ and are not subject to pet fees. You will be asked to provide a document from a medical professional regarding an Assistance Animal.
